Bill Ingram is Assistant Dean of University Libraries at Virginia Tech, where he oversees Special Collections and University Archives, Digital Imaging and Preservation, Digital Libraries, and IT Services. Ingram received an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008. Since then he has been involved in projects and services related to scholarly communication, digital preservation, and repositories, including technical leadership of the Library’s institutional repository and ETD programs at UIUC. Ingram began at Virginia Tech in 2016 as Director of University Libraries IT Services before becoming Assistant Dean for the Libraries in 2018. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science (with dissertation focused on ETDs) and is an active member of the Digital Library Research Laboratory at Virginia Tech. In 2019 he was awarded an IMLS National Digital Infrastructures research grant, with co-PIs Dr. Edward A. Fox (Executive Director and Chairman of the Board for NDLTD) and Dr. Jian Wu at Old Dominion University, to study the application of computational methods and resources to large corpora of ETDs in order to increase access, use, and reuse of this rich body of graduate research and scholarship. |
