posted Jun 29, 2015, 9:23 AM by NDLTD Admin
The NDLTD ETD Forum is for all library professionals, academic administrators, faculty, and students interested in the promotion of Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs). This is the place to discuss university policies, thesis repositories, data archiving, copyright issues, and issues related to authoring multimedia theses and dissertations. This forum is open to anyone, regardless of NDLTD membership status.

Below are some highlights from the recent discussions (chronological list starting from the latest topic discussed):
The Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) is an international organization dedicated to promoting the adoption, creation, use, dissemination, and preservation of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs). We support electronic publishing and open access to scholarship in order to enhance the sharing of knowledge worldwide. Our website includes resources for university administrators, librarians, faculty, students, and the general public. Topics include how to find, build and manage ETDs.

We cordially invite individuals, academic libraries, universities, and other organizations involved in disseminating and archiving electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) to become members of the NDLTD. Membership will connect you to a growing community dedicated to improving access to scholarly works. Membership also has tangible privileges:
  • Support for harvesting your institution’s ETDs into the NDLTD Union Catalog, thereby increasing their visibility,
  • Support for developing a long-term preservation strategy through the NDLTD’s partnership with the MetaArchive Cooperative,
  • Eligibility for NDLTD ETD awards,
  • Eligibility to serve on NDLTD committees and working groups,
  • Eligibility for a mentoring program,
  • Discounts on exhibits and displays at annual symposia,
  • Conference registration fee discounts for selected events.
